Terms of Service

SpaceFree is a Windows desktop application that scans your local drives and helps you find and reclaim disk space used by WSL2, Docker, package caches, build artifacts, and similar developer storage. Cleanup actions run locally on your machine, on files and paths you choose to act on.

Claiming a free trial requires signing in with a Google account. You're responsible for keeping that account secure and for all activity under it. You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service — SpaceFree is a developer tool and isn't directed at children.

New users can claim one 7-day free trial license per person, with no payment required upfront. We reserve the right to limit, refuse, or revoke a trial we reasonably believe is fraudulent or abusive — for example, creating multiple accounts to repeatedly claim new trials on the same device.

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (currently monthly) through Dodo Payments, who acts as the merchant of record for your purchase — meaning your payment contract for the subscription itself is with Dodo Payments, not directly with us, and their Buyer Terms govern billing, cancellation, and refunds for that purchase. By subscribing, you authorize Dodo Payments to charge your payment method each billing cycle until cancelled.

As of writing, Dodo Payments requires cancellation requests at least 48 hours before the end of your current billing period, refunds are granted at their discretion on a case-by-case basis, and there are no refunds for unused portions of a billing period. Check their Buyer Terms directly for the current policy, since it can change independently of this page.

We may change our prices going forward. If we do, we'll give you reasonable notice before the change applies to your next billing cycle.

Subject to these terms and an active trial or paid subscription, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the SpaceFree desktop application for your own use. A license key may only be activated on a limited number of devices at a time as provided for your plan — don't share your key or attempt to activate it beyond that limit.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the application, or attempt to bypass or circumvent license validation, except to the extent applicable law gives you the right to do so despite this restriction.

SpaceFree can move, compact, or delete files and virtual disks on your machine at your direction. By default, deletions go to the Windows Recycle Bin rather than being removed permanently, but you are responsible for reviewing what you choose to clean up and for keeping backups of anything important. We aren't responsible for data loss resulting from actions you take using the Service.

The Service relies on third parties to operate — Google for sign-in, Dodo Payments for license activation and billing, Supabase for our database, and Vercel for hosting. Your use of those integrations is also subject to those providers' own terms.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect or reclaim any specific amount of storage.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpaceFree won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

You can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, including misuse of license keys or abuse of the free trial. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (like limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
